Srinagar, Sep 27 (KNS) Apni Party president Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday attacked the National Conference, alleging it has "always deceived" the people of Jammu and Kashmir and accusing it of a contradiction between its words and actions.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) Altaf Bukhari said he had toured five wards over the past week and thanked people for coming forward to share their pain, hoping their message would reach the Prime Minister of India.
Referring to a resolution passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, he alleged the NC has never let the people of J&K wake up and has always deceived us.
Altaf Bukhari alleged the NC's promises, including the recent Assembly resolution, were mere tokenism. If there was an intention, then what is it not to happen? he said.
He alleged the National Conference brings messages from Delhi and accused its leaders of shuttling between the Assembly in the morning and Delhi in the afternoon. They go there with a message and come here from there, he said.
Referring to the Election Commission, Altaf Bukhari said since 1947, someone has seen the election commission as a commission of theft and that this was what the people of J&K had witnessed.
Today, if the people of India are seeing what we have been seeing since 1947, then it is good, he added. (KNS)
