Bandipora, Dec 8 (KNS) : In a decisive move to strengthen road safety and ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations, the ARTO Bandipora team conducted an extensive enforcement drive on December 8, 2025. The initiative was carried out under the directions of the Hon’ble Transport Commissioner, J&K.
During the district-wide operation, the enforcement team inspected nearly 170 vehicles at multiple locations. The drive focused on curbing traffic violations, enhancing commuter safety, and promoting responsible driving practices.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The crackdown led to the issuance of over 50 e-challans, with penalties amounting to ?50,000 collected on the spot. In addition, the ARTO has recommended suspension of six driving licenses for serious and repeated violations, underscoring the department's zero-tolerance policy toward dangerous driving behavior.
Officials stated that such enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to ensure discipline on the roads and safeguard the lives of commuters across Bandipora district.(KNS)
