Srinagar, Feb 14(KNS): Former Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu, expressed concern over an alleged case of permanent brain damage in a baby due to anesthesia overdose at ASG Eye Hospitals Srinagar, stating that numerous victims have similar stories of negligence at the hospital.
He criticized the hospital's involvement in election campaigns for PDP, suggesting a diversion of focus from patient care.
"A baby’s brain was damaged permanently by anesthesia overdose at ASG EyeHospitals Srinagar," he said. "Countless victims have similar stories of permanent damage due to gross negligence at this “hospital”," he said.
They are too busy running election campaigns for PDP than to focus on patients, he added.
"A notorious private hospital ASG Eye Hospitals Srinagar has been repeatedly going around organizing “free medical camps” with PDP workers ahead of LS polls," he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"Has Govt allowed private hospitals to join politics and do electioneering for PDP? he questioned.
Meanwhile, Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran Srinagar decried the politicization of healthcare, citing ASG Eye Hospitals' collaboration with PDP workers for 'free medical camps.'
" Concerns raised about funding sources and patient care priorities. Urgent intervention requested from @OfficeOfLG_JK for investigation," he said.
