Gulmarg, Aug 27 (KNS): In view of continuous rainfall and weather warnings issued for the region, authorities have urged residents of low-lying areas — including Treran, Shrai, Reram, Hardabora, Tarhama, Pinjoora, and adjoining villages — to take all necessary precautionary measures to ensure their safety.

According to an advisory issued by the office of the SDM Gulmarg (No: SDM/G/2025/1409-10 dated 27/08/2025), the persistent downpour has heightened the risk of flash floods, waterlogging, and possible landslides in vulnerable areas.

Key precautionary measures include:

Avoid unnecessary travel, particularly near water bodies, flood-prone zones, and mining areas.

Refrain from taking livestock for grazing near water bodies and vulnerable zones.

Stay updated through official sources and avoid paying heed to rumors or unverified reports.

The advisory further stated that residents may reach out to the Control Room for assistance using the contact details already circulated earlier.
