Avadhesh Pratap Singh Honored with Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Srinagar, January 25 (KNS): Avadhesh Pratap Singh, Senior Commandant and Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) at Srinagar Airport, has been awarded the prestigious Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2025.

Joining the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as an Assistant Commandant in 2002, Singh has had an illustrious career spanning over two decades. After completing his basic training, he served in various CISF units across multiple sectors. His extensive experience in the Airport Security Group (ASG) includes leading roles as CASO at Dibrugarh, Varanasi, and Srinagar airports.

From 2017 to 2024, Singh was on deputation to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), where he played a pivotal role in shaping aviation security policies. During this tenure, he demonstrated exceptional expertise, contributing to the formulation of key guidelines, including the AEP Guidelines 2022, Manpower Norms 2021, and the revision of the Anti-Hijacking Manual.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

As a Regional Director in Guwahati and Srinagar, Singh conducted audits, inspections, and surveys of approximately 40 airports across India. Notably, he was part of the BCAS audit team that evaluated facilities at Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom. His contributions as a certified instructor have also been significant, having conducted numerous examinations and training sessions for screeners, auditors, and instructors.

Recognized for his outstanding service, Singh received the DG’s Commendation Disc and Certificate from the Director General, BCAS, in 2023. His dedication and professional acumen have earned him widespread respect within the aviation security domain.(KNS)
