Srinagar, Sep 20 (KNS) The Autumn Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will commence here on Monday, with the House set to take up a report on alleged irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission and a Bill to amend the Cooperative Societies Act, alongside paying tributes to three former ministers.

Official sources said the Speaker will make obituary references on the demise of Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Dharam Paul and Ghulam Hassan Khan, all former ministers, at the start of the proceedings.

The House will then take up the Question Hour, with questions listed separately for answers by the government, they said. The Speaker will also announce the Panel of Chairmen for the session, sources added.

In a significant development, Justice Hasnain Masoodi, Chairman of the House Committee, will lay on the Table of the House a copy of the report of the panel constituted to probe alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe committee was constituted vide No. L.A.1994-2014/legn/2025 dated April 9, 2025.

On the legislative front, Minister In-charge Cooperatives Javid Ahmad Dar will introduce a Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies Act, 1989, to repeal the Jammu and Kashmir Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999 and to provide a transitional arrangement for self-reliant cooperatives under the 1989 Act. The Bill — LA. Bill No. 9 of 2026 — has already been published in an extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette. (KNS)
