Bandipora, March 22 (KNS): The bustling market of Bandipora is grappling with severe traffic congestion as illegal encroachments on roads and footpaths by vendors and hawkers have become a persistent issue, causing distress among pedestrians, office-goers, and students alike.
Local residents have voiced their concerns to Srinagar based News agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), highlighting the administration's apparent lack of initiative in addressing the problem.
"The footpaths, especially in the crowded market areas, are constantly occupied by shop owners and street vendors, leaving no space for pedestrians. This forces people to walk on the roads, which, coupled with unlawful parking, leads to significant traffic snarls," shared a resident with KNS.
In response to the growing discontent, officials at the Municipal Council Bandipora have taken some measures, including deploying a towing vehicle and imposing fines on several violators.

The situation has prompted an appeal to the local administration for decisive and prompt action to reclaim the footpaths and ensure smooth traffic flow.
The residents of Bandipora are calling for a sustainable solution that respects the rights of pedestrians and maintains the orderliness of the market.
As the problem persists, the eyes of Bandipora's citizens are on the administration, hoping for a resolution that will restore the market to its former state of accessibility and convenience.(KNS)
