Baramulla, 10 Aug (KNS): Baramulla Police have cracked a blind murder case that had left the community in shock. The case began on August 2, 2024, when Police Post Palhallan received information about an unidentified dead body found under the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The body was later identified as Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Pousnag Kreeri.
A dedicated police team led by SDPO Pattan DSP Shahjahan, assisted by SHO Pattan Inspector Mohd Shafi and DO Palhalan Sub-Inspector Raees, embarked on a meticulous investigation. Through sustained interrogation, examination of evidence, and analysis of technical data, the team successfully identified four suspects involved in the crime.
The accused, all residents of Gundbal Pattan in District Baramulla, were identified as, Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, son of Late Gh Nabi, Fatima Begum, wife of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, Rubeena Bano, daughter of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie and Aadil Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie
The investigation revealed that the accused had conspired to kill Nasir Ahmad Ganaie on August 1, 2024.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey allegedly strangulated him using a dupatta and later disposed of the body under the bridge to conceal the crime.
The police have arrested the accused, who are currently in custody. Additionally, the police team recovered the weapon used in the crime (a dupatta) and other crucial evidence.
The SSP stated that the locals assisted in cracking this case.
