Delhi, Aug 12 (KNS):Hundreds of Citizens,youth and women staged a candle light march under the auspices of Kashmiri lovers led by Ajay Pandita Chief of (Kashmir Peace Lovers ),in Gurugram,NCR ,-in solidarity with the protesting Bangladeshis especially the Hindus who are seeking protection against brutal killings,arson,loot and destruction of their properties and places of worship that engulfed Bangladeshis,
after the fallout of the forcible exit of Sheikh Hasina government.
Prominent citizens amongst others who participated in the March a noted senior Lawyer Ashok Bhan,Mahesh Dyama,(Councillor-Gurgaon,)Rajesh Pandit,Satish Gudiya, Sanjay Bhat,Anil Pawar,Ashok Rai,Anand Srivastava Nanda and our Women wing activists Jaya Kachroo, Virin Dhar ,Amita Pathak and Sujata Dhar.
Speaking on the occasion Ashok Bhan urged the UN Secretary General to appoint a team of UN officials led by a special Rapporteur to visit Bangladesh and submit a ground level assessment of the human rights violations inflicted on the innocent citizens especially the minorities by killings,arson,loot and burning of properties and temples etc and vandalism against the statutes of eminent Bangladeshis.
The UN Secretary General is urged to build pressure on Interim Bangladesh government to restore the peace and to bring the perpetrators of Voilence to justice.
The innocent civilians and the members of minority community have suffered casualties,arson,loot and torching of their property and vandalism against Hindu temples and statutes of eminent Bangladeshi faced at least 205 attacks across 52 districts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Bangladesh Buddhist Christian Unity Council and the Hindu Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad presented the data on such attacks to Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, who had just been sworn in as the head of the interim government.They demanded :
“We seek protection because our brother have been killed and our lives are in a disastrous state. We are staying up at night, guarding our homes and temples. We have never seen anything like this in my life. We demand that the government restore communal harmony in the country.Those involved in attacking minorities must be brought to justice. If a minority individual is attacked for political reasons, it is still unacceptable. Anyone who commits a crime should be judged, but burning homes and looting will not lead to justice.”
Expressing deep concern over the incidents of violence against Hindus, Buddhists and other minority communities in Bangladesh during the change of power in the last few days."The atrocities such as targeted killing of Hindus and other minority community people, looting, arson, heinous crimes against women and attacks on places of worship like temples in Bangladesh are intolerable and the protesters strongly condemned these atrocities on innocent Bangladeshis.(KNS)
