Srinagar November 11 (KNS): Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore initiated a novel idea of plantation i.e."Community Plantation Drive” in association with Social Forestry department J&K Govt and NLCO (Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation) today.
The event was graced by a number of renowned dignitaries: Mr Abdul Aziz Mir (Chairman BML Welfare trust), Mr G. M. The dignitaries shared their views and brought awareness about importance of trees and their plantation.Towards the end students, teachers and drivers were provided with saplings for plantation at home. The reason behind the drive is awareness among students about importance of plants and to develop a sense of responsibility among students towards environment and its care. While they plant the given sapling, an emotional connection between the child and the given sapling will be developed.
The event was concluded by a vote of thanks by Vice- Principal Ms Sakeena Shafi.(KNS)
