Handwara, Aug 29(KNS): MLA Handwara and Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference (JKPC) president Sajad Lone has urged the authorities at Kashmir University to set up examination centres in District Kupwara, highlighting the difficulties faced by students due to the absence of such facilities.
Kupwara, the northernmost district of Jammu and Kashmir, lies along the Line of Control (LoC). Lone emphasized that the lack of an examination centre poses a significant barrier to academic excellence, forcing students to travel over 100 kilometers in harsh winter conditions to appear for their exams.
"Travelling such long distances in biting cold is hardly an optimum start for exams.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThese are non-academic hardships that impact academics and need to be removed," Lone stated.
He also pointed out the psychological impact of such difficulties, stating that recall during exams, concentration, and writing fluency are all affected by the environment. The added stress of long travel negatively impacts academic performance, making it imperative for the authorities to address this issue.
Lone urged Kashmir University to take immediate steps to establish examination centres in Kupwara, ensuring a more conducive environment for students to perform to the best of their abilities. (KNS)
