Srinagar, Nov 08(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly experienced continued disruptions on Friday as BJP members protested over the special status resolution, marking the third consecutive day of uproar.
As the House convened, BJP MLAs raised slogans such as "Pakistani agenda nahi chalega" and moved into the well of the House. In response, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather ordered the marshaling out of 12 opposition MLAs, including Langate legislator Sheikh Khurshid.
Following the eviction, 11 additional BJP MLAs walked out in protest. The ongoing disturbances in the House began after the passage of the resolution earlier in the week.
After being marshalled out, BJP MLAs, including Opposition Leader Sunil Sharma, staged a sit-in protest outside the assembly.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Jammu and Kashmir Leader of Opposition, Sunil Kumar Sharma, criticized the proceedings, saying, "Today will be marked as a dark day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir and its democratic traditions. For the past three days, the Speaker has acted in favor of the National Conference and has been suppressing the opposition's voice."
"We are protesting against the highhandedness of the Speaker, who is acting as the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC). The Speaker drafted the resolution tabled by the party and allowed unconstitutional and illegal resolutions in the House," he said.(KNS)
