Srinagar, Dec 05 (KNS): National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah Tuesday said that the BJP's success in three states should be attributed more to the shortcomings of the Congress party rather than a failure of the INDIA alliance.
Speaking to reporters at Hazratbal, Omar Abdullah clarified that the INDIA alliance itself did not face defeat in these elections. Instead, he suggested that certain statements had surfaced, warranting discussion and resolution.
He stressed that the setback should be seen as a setback for the Congress at an individual level, not for the broader alliance.
Omar also said that the National Conference had indeed received such an invitation, while refraining from commenting on whether Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had received a similar intimation.
"The focus remains on addressing internal party matters and strengthening the alliance moving forward," he added. (KNS)
