SRINAGAR, Sep 02(KNS): The Congress party's central election committee has finalized 23 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, covering the 2nd and 3rd phases of voting.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Hameed Karra announced that the list of candidates for the 2nd phase will include six names, with details to be released soon.

Karra mentioned that the committee had requested more information about one seat in the 2nd phase and five seats in the 3rd phase.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe indicated that Congress has finalized candidates for 5 seats in the 2nd phase and 18 in the 3rd phase. Additional details for one seat will be provided later in the day.

Congress is in a pre-poll alliance with the National Conference, with NC contesting 51 seats and Congress 32 seats. There will be a friendly contest in five seats, and CPI (M) and Panthers Party will each have one seat(KNS).
