Srinagar December 23 (KNS): The Indian National Congress has appointed Kashmir-based politician Ghulam Ahmad Mir as the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for Jharkhand, along with an additional charge for West Bengal.
Mir expressed his gratitude on the microblogging site 'X', saying, "I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our CPP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji, Congress President Mallikarjun @kharge Ji, and Shri @RahulGandhi Ji for reposing faith in me and appointing me as General Secretary of AICC."
In a related development, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been relieved from the post of AICC in-charge of UP Congress, while Sachin Pilot is appointed as the in-charge of Chhattisgarh Congress.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelRamesh Chennithala is assigned as AICC in-charge of Maharashtra.
Furthermore, Sachin Pilot has been designated as the General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Congress, Deepa Dasmunshi as the General Secretary of Kerala and Lakshadweep, with an additional charge of Telangana Congress.
It is noteworthy that Ghulam Ahmad Mir, hailing from Dooru Shahabad Anantnag, served as the President of the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee from 2015 until his resignation from the post in July 2022.(KNS)
