Karnah, May 09 (KNS): A day before his daughter’s wedding, a father in Hajinar, Karnah, watched helplessly as relentless cross-border shelling turned years of hard work, savings, and dreams into dust.
Nazir Ahmad Mir, a resident of the Hajinar village of Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, lost everything he had prepared for the wedding of his daughter, Bisma Nazir, scheduled to take place on May 10.
The shelling, which caused widespread panic in the area, left Mir’s house fully damaged and destroyed all the household items, including the wedding goods he had painstakingly arranged over the years.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“There is nothing left. The trousseau, the jewellery, the clothes, the furniture it’s all gone,” Nazir said with tears in his eyes.
A local told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the family had been looking forward to the wedding for months and that preparations had been completed just days ago. “It’s not just a financial loss, it’s the emotional collapse of a father who wanted to see his daughter off with honour and happiness,” said Sajad Ahmad a neighbour.
Nazir, the sole earning member of the family, has now appealed to the administration for urgent support. “I have no means to restart" he added.(KNS)
