Srinagar November 30 (KNS): symposium titled " Peace and integration with special reference to the thoughts of Allama Iqbal and Molana Abul Kalam Azad " was held by Jammu and Kashmir Urdu Council in corroboration with Government Degree College for Women, Nawakadal in the College auditorium today on 30th of November, 2023 ( Thursday) .
Professor Naseem Rafiabadi, a well known islamic scholar and renowned auther presided over the occasion while as Dr. Arifa Bushrah( Head - department of urdu- Kashmir University) and Syed Humayum Qaiser ( Ex Director Radio Kashmir ) participated as chief guest and guest of honor respectively.
The symposium started with the recitation of Quran by a student of Government Degree College for women, Nawakadal. The inaugral address was delivered by Professor Muhammad Farooq Mir ( principal of the said college ) . Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Kakroo ( Vice president of Urdu council ) delivered a key address on the above mentioned topic in which heart explicated in detail the role played by Allama Iqbal and Molana Azad for the promotion of peace and harmonical integrity in the Indian Subcontinent. He also threw light on the role of Urdu council for the Promotion of urdu language. Javed Ahmad Kirmani ( Secretary Urdu Council), Dr. Nusrat Jabeen(Asstt. Professor Central University) and Dr. Shakeel Shifayi ( a well known scholar) participated in the symposium as judges.
The students from different degree colleges across the valley took part in the debate under the above mentioned title. At the end of the debate professor Arifa Bushra, Syed Humayum Qaiser and Professor Naseem Rafiabadi spoke on the occasion and apprised the audiance with their valuable and excelled views. After their speeches, different prizes were distributed among the participant students. Masooma Ali of Government degree college for women, Molana Azad Road, Srinagar grabbed the first position while as Muskan Safdar of Government degree college for women, Baramulla and Shafqat Rahman of Government Boys degree college, Sopore grabbed the second and thirst position respectively. Mr. Nazir Qureshi and Professor Pinu Indrabi presented vote of thanks to all the participants. Besides college management Sofi Ali Muhammad, Shabir Matji, Sarwar Maqbool' Nazim Nazir ( Editor Tameel Irshad) , faculty members of the college and a large number of students attended the occasion.(KNS)
