DDC Chairman Irfan Sultan Pandithpori chairs review meeting of District Capex Budget 2024-25

 KUPWARA, Nov 12 (KNS): Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori today chaired the council meeting in the meeting Hall of DC Office Complex to review the progress of various developmental projects under District CAPEX Budget 2024-25.

Vice-Chairman, District Development Council, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir;  CEO District Development Council , Gulzar Ahmad Bhat; Members of District Development Council, besides, District and Sectoral Officers attended the meeting.

At the outset, the CPO Kupwara, presented a detailed overview of the ongoing and completed projects under District CAPEX Budget 2024-25 including sectors like Minor Irrigation, R&B, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Youth Services & Sports, Health, PHE, NFB, United Grants, ADF (DDC/BDC/PRI grants) and Samridh Seema Yojna.

The meeting was informed that total approved outlay 2024-25 involves 66675.25 lakh, and funds released as on date is Rs.31466.90 lakh and expenditure up to ending 10/2024 is 26662.04 lakh which is 84.73 %.

 The chairman took a detailed review of the physical and financial status of works taken up under the District Capex schemes and other sectors.
During the meeting, council members projected various demands concerning their respective constituencies including feasibility issues of creations under PDD, shortage of BDOs in different blocks of the district and suffering of routine work in different blocks due to acute shortage of BDOs.

 After reviewing the sector wise progress of the works, the chairman impressed upon district level Officers of all departments to expedite the process of tendering, allotments and speed up the pace of development projects, keeping in mind the dipping of temperatures, expected snowfall and ensure completion of projects so that all targets for the current financial year are achieved within the stipulated time frame. Chairman also took the review of buffer stock of transformers and asked PDD officers to keep their men and machinery alert in wake of harsh winter.

On the occasion, the Vice Chairman, District Development Council also asked the officers to put in their best efforts for timely completion of works for optimum utilization of funds under different schemes. He directed the concerned officers to complete the work of Warnow-Shahbad Bridge and Alama Anwar Shah Stadium on priority.

ADDC Kupwara who is CEO of District Development Council urged the officers to be responsive to the public, actively address their genuine needs and embrace the role as public servants.

He emphasized officers for accountability, empathy, and prioritization of proactive service and public welfare. He encouraged the officers to work diligently to propel the district Kupwara towards greater development, progress, and improving the quality of life for residents. (KNS)
