Commemorative functions marking anniversary held across Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh

Srinagar, 11 July (KNS): The President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President Omar Abdullah, led party functionaries in paying their respects with floral tributes and Fateha at the Mazar-e-Anwar of Madar-e-Maharban Begum Akbar Jehan Abdullah at Qaid Mazar, Naseem Bagh Hazratbal.

The functionaries passionately recounted the remarkable contributions of Madre Meharban, highlighting her multifaceted roles throughout her lifetime. "Not only did she proudly wave the party flag high, but she also provided guidance and strength to party workers during challenging times when Sher-e-Kashmir was under confinement," they stated.

The leaders emphasized that Madre Meharban was instrumental in dismantling feudalism in JK and tirelessly advocated for the marginalized and impoverished members of society until her last breath. Describing her as the epitome of sacrifice, the leaders asserted that any discussion of J&K's struggle for rights before and after 1947 would be incomplete without mentioning her name.

In Jammu the party leaders offered rich tributes to Madar-e-Maharban at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu. Similar commemorative functions were held at all district headquarters across Jammu & Kashmir regions.

In the meantime Party General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar express heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated workers, delegates, and various party bodies for their unwavering presence at the event to honor Madr-e-Meharban.(KNS)
