Samba, Oct 4 (KNS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Sunday inspected the ongoing construction of two long-span bridges on the T01-Dhalote via Talour road in Sumb block of Samba district and directed officials to ensure their timely completion without compromising on quality.
During the inspection, Choudhary expressed concern over the slow pace of work and directed the concerned officers to identify the reasons for the delay and take corrective measures to expedite construction.
He also called for fixing responsibility for any undue delay and directed the executing agency and officials to closely monitor the progress of the projects at every stage.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to conduct a detailed quality check of the ongoing works and ensure that construction is carried out strictly as per approved designs, specifications and prescribed engineering standards.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The two bridges, BR-1 and BR-2, each have a span of 181.60 metres and are being constructed under the PMGSY scheme on the T01-Dhalote via Talour road.
BR-1 falls between RD 0/200 and RD 0/300 and has an allotted cost of Rs 2,365.87 lakh, while BR-2 falls between RD 3/010 and RD 3/180 and has an allotted cost of Rs 2,429.45 lakh.
Choudhary stressed the need for strict quality control and close monitoring of progress, directing officials to submit an assessment of the bottlenecks responsible for the delay and ensure remedial measures without further delay.
He said vital connectivity projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining prescribed quality standards, keeping in view their importance for the people and overall development of the region.(KNS)
