Srinagar, Sept 24 (KNS) President of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi, has stressed the need for close coordination between parents and teachers for the academic, moral and intellectual development of students.

According to a statement issued, Addressing parents at Mahboob Millat Hall, Jamia Babul Ilm Oreintal College of Learning Mirgund,Budgam Aga Syed Hassan said education should not be confined to examinations and degrees but must inculcate discipline, character, knowledge and critical thinking among students. He urged parents to remain actively involved in their children’s education and maintain regular communication with teachers.

Referring to the reported withdrawal of 4,249 books from colleges and libraries across Jammu and Kashmir, including nearly 4,000 from Kashmir, Aga Syed Hassan called for complete transparency in the matter.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said the titles of the books removed, the specific grounds for declaring them objectionable and the criteria adopted for their withdrawal should be made public.

He emphasised that educational institutions and libraries must remain centres of learning, research and intellectual development, and said students should be encouraged to read, inquire and develop the ability to critically examine ideas.

Aga Syed Hassan said parents, teachers and educational institutions share a collective responsibility to nurture a generation that is knowledgeable, disciplined, morally grounded and intellectually capable of contributing positively to society.
