Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNS): Former Minister and Secretary General of the Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference Molvi Imran Reza Ansari today expressed profound disappointment regarding the exclusion of Nawroz, a cherished cultural celebration observed annually on March 21st, from the official Government Holidays in J&K.
He said the decision, detailed in Government Order No.1583-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated 11.12.2023, has raised significant concerns about cultural inclusivity and understanding within the region.

Ansari emphasized that the crux of diversity lies in acknowledging and embracing the rich tapestry of various cultural practices.
He added that removal of Nawroz not only disregards the cultural sentiments deeply attached to this celebration but also communicates a disheartening message about the value attributed to the SHIA community in the region.(KNS)
