Farooq Abdullah Skipped Parliament to Avoid Speaking on Article 370: Iltija Mufti

Srinagar, April 17 (KNS): Iltija Mufti has launched a sharp attack on the National Conference (NC), accusing the party of betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir and aligning with the BJP’s political agenda.

She claimed that former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah privately supported the abrogation of Article 370 and skipped the Parliament session on August 5, 2019, to avoid taking a public stand. “Farooq Abdullah didn’t go to Parliament because he knew he would have to speak on Article 370,” Iltija alleged.

Taking her criticism further, Iltija said the NC has long hidden political betrayals from the people and even now only talks about restoring statehood — a stand that matches the BJP’s narrative.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

She also highlighted the close ties between the Abdullah family and former RAW chief A.S. Dulat, suggesting that Dulat’s recent statements on Farooq Abdullah’s position on Article 370 should be taken seriously.

Iltija did not hold back from criticizing Omar Abdullah either, accusing him of failing to protect the interests of Muslims during his tenure as Chief Minister. She specifically mentioned his silence on the controversial Waqf Bill, calling it another example of NC’s "pattern of betrayal and complicity."

Concluding her statement, Iltija said the NC's silence on key issues has let down both Kashmiri Muslims and the larger Muslim community across India (KNS)
