Festivals Like Baisakhi Strengthen Kashmir’s Cultural Harmony and Tourism: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 13 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V.K. Bidhuri, on Sunday said that Baisakhi is not just a festival for a particular community but has become a shared celebration for all, reflecting the spirit of unity and brotherhood in the valley.


Speaking on the occasion, Bidhuri said, "Like Eid, Diwali, and other festivals, Baisakhi too is celebrated with the same enthusiasm here. Such festivals promote our tradition of togetherness and highlight the cultural vibrancy of Kashmir."

Bidhuri expressed happiness over the growing tourist footfall at various scenic spots, including the Tulip Garden, and appreciated the role of the tourism department in organizing such events. He said festivals like Baisakhi play an important role in attracting tourists and showcasing the region's beauty and hospitality.

Highlighting the government’s efforts to promote new tourist destinations, Bidhuri said places like Bangus Valley, Keran, Yousmarg, Doodhpathri, and Lal Chowk are now gaining attention through various cultural and tourism-based activities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe informed that another festival is scheduled to be held at Lal Chowk on April 16, and similar programs were recently organized at Yousmarg.

Bidhuri also mentioned the ongoing development works at Keran, particularly the road connectivity, which has been improved significantly to make the destination more accessible for visitors.

The Divisional Commissioner extended his gratitude to tourists and locals for participating in the festival and said such events help in strengthening Kashmir’s image as a welcoming and vibrant tourist destination. (KNS)
