Handwara, July 14 (KNS): A devastating fire erupted in Yangerhad, Rajwar village of Handwara, North Kashmir, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, causing major damage to the area.
As per locals, As many as a dozen houses and an equal number of cow sheds were gutted in the blaze.
According to local residents, the massive fire spread rapidly in the residential area, resulting in extensive damage.
The flames destroyed around a dozen houses and an equal number of cow sheds before emergency responders could bring the situation under control.

They were soon joined by Fire and Emergency Services officers. Despite their combined efforts, the fire caused substantial destruction before it was finally subdued.
Local residents expressed their anger and frustration with the authorities, pointing out that they had repeatedly requested the establishment of a fire station in the area, but their appeals had gone unheard.
They believe that having a fire station nearby could have mitigated the damage.
Fire and Emergency Services confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this catastrophic event.
