Srinagar, June 2 (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Police have booked five terror associates of banned outfits under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Srinagar, officials said on Monday.
A police spokesperson said the individuals were involved in criminal and subversive activities threatening national security.
The five have been identified as Nayeem Ahmad Khan (Gamandar Panthachowk), Faizan Akhter Bhat (Gousia Colony, Khanyar), Mehraj Ud Din Bhat (Pandach), Umar Hamid Sheikh (Assar Colony, Hazratbal), and Suhaib Shafi Baba alias Chamna (Diwat Walipora, Rainawari).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They were booked after formal detention orders were issued based on detailed dossiers prepared by Srinagar Police. The accused have been sent to district jails in Kathua, Udhampur, and Kot Balwal, Jammu.
Police said the accused, despite facing multiple criminal cases, continued to engage in activities harmful to national interests even after being granted bail. The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts by Jammu and Kashmir Police to dismantle anti-national networks in Srinagar.(KNS)
