Floriculture Dept holds Interaction programme in Budgam, discusses advancement of Lavender production

Budgam April 13 (KNS): The interaction programme was held today on in Budgam District to discuss production of cut flowers, advancements in lavender production and value addition.The event focused on enhancing the economic potential of floriculture through Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), a centrally sponsored scheme supporting the holistic growth of the Floriculture sector
Key Highlights of the Programme:

1.Lavender Production & Value Addition
Emphasis on essential oil extraction, which is widely used in cosmetics, aromatherapy, and pharmaceuticals
Discussion on processing techniques to improve yield and quality.

2.Support for infrastructure development, including Poly houses, shadenet houses , vermicompost units etc.
3.Cultivation of Rose, Gerbera, Carnations & Ornamentals.

5.Valueadded products from Roses-including rose water, rose oil, and gulkan.
