Kupwara, April 17 (KNS): In a proactive move to ensure food safety and hygiene across Jammu & Kashmir, the Food Safety Department today conducted a market inspection in Kupwara under the Supervison of Hilal Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, J&K. The operation was carried out in coordination with the local Food Safety team of Kupwara.
During the inspection, multiple hotels and food establishments were thoroughly checked for compliance with food safety regulations. As a result of violations found during the inspection, a total fine amounting to Rs. 20,000 was imposed on erring establishments.

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any unhygienic food practices or unsafe food being served at any food outlet. "If anyone comes across unhygienic food in any hotel or restaurant, they are encouraged to call the department’s toll-free helpline at 104. Our team will respond promptly and take necessary action," he assured.
