Friday prayers again barred at Jama Masjid Srinagar, Mirwaiz remains under house detention: AAC

Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir Awami Action Committee led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that for the third consecutive Friday no prayers were allowed at central Jama Masjid Srinagar and its chairman and was once again placed under house arrest.

In a statement, issued to KNS AAC said that repeated closure of Jama Majid and house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq are reminders of the situation in J&K and its fragile ‘normalcy’.

The statement reads that while no reason for these bars is publicly given by the authorities, but if the reason is fear of display of support and solidarity by the people of Kashmir with the hapless people of Palestine being bombed and butchered by Israel that solidarity was and will be there for them as fellow humans and Muslims.

“Kashmiris stand with the people of Palestine irrespective of bans and restrictions on them.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

AAC said that people and nations who are alive to being human will naturally support and empathise with those who are wronged and the way Israel is carrying out the genocide of Palestinians with impunity, Kashmiris known for their conscientious and human approach in such matters will always support the genuine right of the people of Palestine over their land and life.

“While thousands of children of Gaza have been bombed to death, hospitals and homes are being razed to ground, the war on Palestinians - a blot on humanity, continues uninterrupted.”

AAC said that war can never buy peace , it only leads to destruction and creates more mistrust, insecurities and cruelties. “There is enough evidence for that in history if one wants to see it.”  (KNS)
