Bandipora, Dec 26 (KNS): The Block Medical Officer (BMO) Hajin has constituted a committee to examine requests seeking exemption from night duties at Community Health Centres (CHCs) Hajin and Sumbal, officials said on saturday.
The decision follows directions issued by MLA Sonawari during a review meeting on December 9, 2025, and is aimed at regulating exemptions without affecting emergency services and staffing norms at the health institutions.
The committee comprises Dr. Muzafar Ahmad Ganaie, Consultant Orthopaedician; Dr. Muzafar Ahmad, Consultant Paediatrician; Dr. Shani Alam Shah, Consultant Gynaecologist; Dr. Mohammad Ramzaan Bahar (MD Medicine), Medical Officer; and Mohammad Ayoub, Junior Assistant.
Officials said applications will be examined on a case-by-case basis. Exemptions will be considered only on documented medical grounds, genuine personal hardship, safety concerns or other justified reasons, supported by verifiable records.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelNo exemption will be automatic or permanent unless recommended by the committee and approved by the competent authority, they added.
The committee has been directed to ensure that its recommendations do not adversely affect patient care, emergency coverage or overall service delivery at both CHCs. All recommendations will be submitted in writing to the BMO for final approval.
Staff members seeking exemption have been asked to submit written representations along with supporting documents. The decision of the competent authority, based on the committee’s recommendations, will be final.
The order has come into effect immediately and will remain in force until further notice. Copies have been forwarded to the Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, concerned officers and the Medical Officers (Administration) of CHC Hajin and CHC Sumbal for compliance. (KNS)
