Ganderbal, July 13(KNS): Hashmat Saliem, a young martial arts enthusiast and Class 3rd student at Doon International School, Singhpora Patan, Baramulla, won a gold medal at the 5th District Ganderbal Pencak Silat Championship. The event took place at Salsabeel Educational School, Safapora, from July 13 to 14, 2025.
Despite his young age, Hashmat impressed with his skill, discipline, and focus in Pencak Silat — a traditional martial art known for combining physical agility with mental strength.
