Human Aid Society Celebrates Silver Jubilee with Theme ‘Respect Elders’

 Baramulla, Dec 11(KNS):  Human Aid Society (HAS) – a north Kashmir based social organization- celebrated its grand Silver Jubilee at Dak Bunglow Baramulla on at Dak Bunglow Baramulla, focusing on the theme ‘Respect Elders’ in which galaxy of guests and intellectual  besides a large number of people from cross section of society participated.

The Silver Jubilee highlighted the organization’s 25 years of dedicated service to society, with reflections on its journey, felicitation of contributors, and performances. The function was presided over by former Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh High Court, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray while as guests of honour include Member Legislative Assembly Baramulla, Javid Hassan Beigh, Secretary District Legal Service Authority  Principal and District Session Baramulla Jawad Ahmad,  Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Director North Campus, University of Kashmir Dr.Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad,  Principal GMC Baramulla Dr. Majid Jhangir,  Colonel Akash Menon, President Adbi Markaz Kamraz Mohmmad Amin Bhat and Patron Human Aid Society Kashmir Haji Karmat Qayoom.

On this occasion Human Aid Society released annual report 2024 by former Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh High Court, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray and dignitaries followed by  a quicky documentary ‘Aak Pehal -’ an endeavors  of 25 years  compiled by the organization. The documentary visualized various welfare, relief and rehabilitation programs, skill development and women empowerment and other welfare programs conducted by the organization which gave an insight about work done by the organization in different fields.

While addressing to the to the audience which include people from cross section of society in jam-packed hall, chief guest Former Chief Justice Jammu and Kashmir UT and Ladakh Justice Ali Mohammad Magray said, “It is collective responsibility of every individual in the society to work for the betterment and welfare poor and needy besides we all must come forward to fight against the social evils.”

He appreciated the work of HAS in last 25 years and urged  more responsibility lies on the shoulders of parents and religious clerics, teachers and social activists to eradicate the menaces of corruption and other social evils  as society is witnessing steep rise in suicide tendencies and drug abuse.

“We all must support the organizations like Human Aid Society and pledge to work for the future of the society,” former justice Ali Mohammad Magary.

“The Brutally Shattered Dreams” a novel authored by Alishba Bukhari- a sponsored ward of HAS who dedicated to this book to her late father, was also released and unveiled, symbolizing the significance of cherishing memories and relationships as he lost her father in early age and her mother is suffering from kidney disease.

Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Javid Ahmad Beigh said that unity in diversity is not merely a theoretical ideal in India but a lived reality. “Better welfare is to live and let others live in unity and diversity. Institutions are responsible to hold society together, not to divide it." His words underscore the crucial role of unity in ensuring societal welfare and highlight the responsibility of institutions to strengthen communal bonds.

He further added that Institutions such as the judiciary, government, and educational systems are entrusted with the responsibility to foster inclusion and understanding, ensuring that differences become a source of strength rather than division.

Speaking on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Raina said, “The administration is making every effort to support the needy and poor, but organizations like Human Aid Society are playing a vital role in complementing these efforts, reaching deserving individuals and addressing ground realities.”

MLA  Sangrama Irfan Hafiz Lone highlighted the present environmental issues like water crises due to pollution and tempering with the nature.

“Environmental issues like water crises arise from pollution and tampering with nature. It's time to act responsibly to protect our future,” he added.

Earlier, Chairman Human Aid Society Bashir Ahmed Mir while welcoming the guests said, “Human Aid Society in a development organization while not only works for welfare but also for the overall development of the society.

On this occasion Human Aid society awarded with citations to acknowledge and admire  the work and contributions of its heroes which include  Prof.Abdul Gani Madhosh  of south Kashmir who worked as advisor to Human Aid Society , former president Valley Fruit Growers Association Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Fatehpora, and former academicians and educationist Ghulam Mohamad Malik of Fatehpora Baramulla who were among the founding members of HAS.

Human Aid Society also awarded various organizations involved in social work and welfare of society which include Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Foundation, Idarah Falah -u-Darain, Bait-ul Mall Fategharh and Baramulla Working Journalist Association. 

Certificates were distributed to 45 women trained under the VTEDS program, which has empowered over 276 girls since 2017, with centers operating across Jammu and Kashmir. 

The other awardees include volunteer of the year Riyaz Ahmad War of Manzgam, Sajad Ahmad Rather of  Nilsar, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Vizer, Mohamad Ashraf Dar of  Bakhipora, Shamas-u-din Lone of Sheeri, Irfan Hamid of Jetty Khwajabagh, Mohammad Shaban of Athwatoo Bandipora, Abdul Rashid Khan Rlo Vizer, Ghandi Fellow of Piramal Foudnation Delhi, Ghulam Mohididn Ganai of Kholan Kandi for their contributions and efforts in carrying forward the mission of Human Aid Society Kashmir.

The event was expertly conducted by Secretay HAS, Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, whose impeccable management added a special charm to the occasion. The program began on a soulful note with a beautiful recitation of Tilawat and Naat by his son, Mohammad Haris Ganai, a student of Baramulla Public School. His melodious voice set a serene and uplifting tone for the proceedings, captivating the audience from the very start.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by  Karamat Qayoom, Patron of Human Aid Society, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, members, and supporters attendees for their unwavering support and contributions to the society’s 25-year journey. He reaffirmed the commitment to serving humanity and urged continued support for the organization's mission.

A large number of people from a cross section of society including teachers, students, NGO Volunteers, social activists, poets, religious scholars participated and educationists.(KNS).
