Srinagar, August 23, (KNS): Inspector General of Police Traffic, J&K, Mohd Suleman Choudhary, along with DIG Traffic Haseeb Mughal, SSP Traffic NHW Rohit Baksotra, and other traffic police officers, conducted a thorough inspection of the National Highway (NHW) today.
The inspection aimed to assess critical stretches that are prone to accidents and landslides as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and manage traffic efficiently on key routes.
During the inspection, IGP Traffic J&K focused on several accident-prone stretches and identified key landslide zones along NHW. IGP Traffic J&K emphasized the commitment to implementing necessary measures to improve road safety and address potential hazards effectively. The Traffic Department will continue to monitor these areas closely and work on additional safety enhancements. Updates on progress and further measures will be communicated to the public.
Later, a joint meeting was held with officers of the district police in Ramban, where SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh and other officers participated. The meeting involved a detailed discussion on implementing enforcement measures to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, especially in light of the upcoming fruit season. (KNS)
