Baramulla, June 01 (KNS): Police in its ongoing drive against illegal mining, have registered 129 cases and arrested 210 persons for being involved in extraction & transportation of minerals during the first five months of year 2024. Besides, seized 210 vehicles used in the transportation of illegal minerals.

These vehicles have been seized from different areas of the district Baramulla and include 91 Tippers, 113 Tractors & 6 excavators.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBaramulla Police along with the Mineral Department have also realised fine in lacs for illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals in the district.

Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.(KNS)
