Srinagar April 17 (KNS): the anniversary of the tragic demolition of Jannat al-Baqi, the Anjuman Shria Shian Budgam has voiced their protest, calling for the immediate reconstruction of the sacred sites left in ruins. Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimiin Agha Syed Hassan Mousvi Safvi emphasizing the urgency of restoration efforts, highlighted the need to restore the devastated holy places without delay.
The incident, marking the 8th of Shawwal, stands as a sombre day in Muslim history globally. In response, a special council was convened by the Anjuman Shria Shian . Following the recitation of the Holy Quran, central speakers delivered elegies, setting the tone for the session.
Hujjat al-Islam Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas al-Musvi introduced a resolution urging the reconstruction of the demolished holy sites, an end to sectarian violence and plundering in the valley, guidance for Friday imams and sermons, and a firm condemnation of the labelling of Iran's retaliatory actions as terroristic by the mercenary press.

Agha emphasized Jannat al-Baqi's significance as the most sacred cemetery in the Islamic world, housing the graves of the Prophet's progeny and thousands of companions. He condemned the Saudi government's act of demolishing these graves, stating it as a blatant display of hereditary envy and hostility towards the Prophet's lineage.
Highlighting the discrepancy in treatment between the construction of idols and shrines in Arab lands versus the intolerable act of constructing mausoleums on the graves of the Prophet's offspring, Al-Safawi stressed the Muslim community's concern for the restoration of the devastated holy sites and the revival of Jannat al-Baqi's lost glory.(KNS)
