Mumbai, Oct 10 (KNS) : The week-long media exposure tour of a journalist delegation from Jammu and Kashmir concluded on a high note with an interactive session at the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Mumbai, on Thursday. The delegation was accompanied by Ms. Jaydevi Swami Pujari, Deputy Director, PIB Mumbai, and was warmly received by Smt. Smita Vats Sharma, Director General (West Zone), PIB.

The interaction served as a vibrant knowledge exchange between the two regional offices, focusing on information dissemination strategies, media coordination mechanisms, and innovative communication models being implemented by PIB Mumbai. DG Sharma emphasized the importance of synergy between field offices to enhance outreach and transparency in government communication.

Highlighting recent initiatives, she reflected on the successful hosting of WAVES — the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, held recently in Mumbai, which brought together global stakeholders from the Media and Entertainment sector to discuss collaboration, innovation, and India’s growing stature as a global creative powerhouse.

The DG also noted that due to the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit, time constraints limited the itinerary, but assured that more immersive media exchange visits would be organized in the future, inviting journalists from J&K again to witness Mumbai’s dynamic growth story firsthand.

Throughout their five-day exposure visit, the J&K media delegation explored several premier institutions and infrastructure landmarks, including the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters (Malabar Hill), Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Worli), Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (Navi Mumbai), Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, Disaster Management Department (MMRDA), and the IIT Bombay Nanofabrication Facility.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

At each stop, journalists witnessed the technological advancements, administrative efficiency, and public service models that define Mumbai’s stature as India’s commercial and innovation capital. The delegation members noted that there is immense scope for youth and media aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir to engage with national institutions and share their expertise and ideas with the government.

During the interaction, PIB officials also highlighted the Centrally Sponsored Schemes and various outreach initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to ensure last-mile communication in the remotest regions.

Expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality, the J&K journalists thanked PIB Mumbai officials for their cordial cooperation and enriching experience.

Concluding the session, Ms. Neha Jalali, Director, PIB Jammu, extended heartfelt thanks to DG PIB West Zone, Smt. Smita Vats Sharma, and the entire PIB Mumbai team for facilitating an exceptionally well-coordinated and informative visit. She noted that such exposure tours not only build stronger professional linkages between regional media networks but also inspire journalists from Jammu and Kashmir to adopt innovative communication tools and storytelling approaches that reflect the region’s evolving development narrative.

DG Smita Vats Sharma, in her closing remarks, revealed that PIB is set to host the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa next month, where senior journalists from across the country will be invited signaling yet another opportunity for cross-regional media collaboration and cultural exchange.(KNS)...
