Srinagar, Sept 30 (KNS) : Director General of Police RR Swain has praised the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its exceptional bravery and community-friendly approach.
"J&K Police is the toughest and yet the most people-friendly bulwark against terrorism and separatism in J&K," Swain said.
Swain highlighted two key reasons for J&K Police's distinction. "Besides fighting eyeball to eyeball with gun-wielding terrorists, no security agency other than J&K Police fights and controls stone-pelting mobs to prevent spread of arson and lawlessness, doing this job with minimum loss of life and property."
He also emphasized the force's heterogeneity. "It's a small mirror of the bigger J&K, with personnel from all regions, communities - Dogri, Gojri, Kashur, Pahari, Shina, Sarazi, Bhaderwahi, and many others - and religious faiths - Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, and Buddhists."
Swain acknowledged the challenges posed by hostile foreign entities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"No other police force faces an adversary with such open and brazen support from across the border."
Despite this, Swain noted that J&K Police's stamina and endurance are unwavering. "But for the foreign component of the opponent, J&K Police would have long ended the cycle of violence," he wrote according to KNS correspondent.
Swain honored the unsung heroes of J&K Police. "The saga of unsung heroes, those fallen and those alive, are not adequately chronicled. There are instances of half of families having been mowed down while standing up for enforcement of law, peace, and security."
Swain expressed pride in the force's role in bringing peace and tranquility to Jammu and Kashmir. "J&K police takes satisfaction and pride in being the harbinger of this new dawn."
These remarks were made by the DGP in the coffee table book "J&K Police 2024". (KNS)
