Kolkata, Dec 4(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) defeated Baroda in their opening match of the Senior Women One Day Trophy, league phase, held in Kolkata.
After winning the toss, J&K chose to field first, and their bowlers restricted Baroda to 255 runs in 50 overs.
Medium pacer Sarla took 2 wickets, while Rubiya Sayed claimed 3 wickets. Spinners Sandhya and Ananya Sharma picked up 2 and 1 wickets, respectively. In addition, two run outs helped J&K bowl out Baroda.
In reply, J&K lost two early wickets but a third-wicket partnership between opener Bawandeep and skipper Jasia stabilised the innings.
