JKCCC to Enforce Strict Ban on Cigarettes, Gutka, Polythene at Gulmarg Gondola Stations: MD JKCCC

Gulmarg, Apr 17 (KNS): To maintain the scenic charm of the world-famous tourist destination Gulmarg, the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) on Thursday launched an intensive post-winter cleanliness drive at Affarvat, Kongdoori, and the Gulmarg Gondola Main Station.


Speaking about the initiative, Managing Director JKCCC, Qamar Sajad, said that the drive focuses on removing garbage from bushes, steep slopes, and hidden corners to ensure a clean and safe environment for visitors. 

Speaking to KNS, he said the corporation is also laying special emphasis on the cleanliness of water bodies and channels in the area.

"After winter, a large amount of waste gets accumulated around the Gondola route, especially in difficult spots.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOur teams have started an intensive cleaning operation, and it will take about a week to fully sanitize the surroundings," Qamar Sajad said.

He further informed that in the coming days, JKCCC is planning to enforce a strict ban on carrying and using hazardous substances like cigarettes, gutka, khaini, paan, and polythene carry bags at Affarvat, Kongdoori, and Gondola stations.

"JKCCC will ensure such items are not allowed through the cable car Gondola. We are committed to protecting the natural beauty of Gulmarg and providing tourists a clean and eco-friendly environment," Qamar Sajad added.(KNS)
