Rajouri, Nov 27(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Tariq Hameed Karra, concluded his two-day tour of Rajouri district today.
During his visit, Karra held a series of meetings with party workers at Shadra Sharif, Thannamandi, and Sunderbani.
Karra paid obeisance at the Shadra Sharif holy shrine, praying for peace, harmony, and brotherhood in society. He interacted with local residents and party workers, listening to their concerns. Many expressed satisfaction over the recent holding of assembly elections after ten years and the formation of a coalition government. However, they voiced concerns over the delay in the restoration of statehood, which they said has left the elected government without sufficient powers. Issues such as unemployment, high taxation, and harassment due to unreasonable orders from the UT administration were also highlighted by the people.

Karra also interacted with senior party functionaries, block presidents, prominent leaders, and workers, including PRIs. He assured them that dynamic and young leaders, as well as women, would be given opportunities at various levels within the party.
Karra called for a concerted effort to demand the restoration of full statehood and safeguard the rights of the people, particularly regarding land, jobs, and natural resources. He urged the workers to prepare for a full-fledged struggle on these issues.
Karra was accompanied by senior Congress leaders from Rajouri district, including Sunderbani Block Presidents NC Sharma, S Ajit Singh, Tirth Ram Sharma, and others. They represented the views of party workers and the general public, emphasizing the demands of the region.(KNS).
