Srinagar. Sept 18 (KNS) : A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA), led by National Convenor Nasir Khuehami, on Friday held a detailed meeting with Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and AICC Media & Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Khera in New Delhi to discuss a wide range of pressing issues concerning students, and youth from Jammu and Kashmir.

The nearly two-hour meeting witnessed extensive deliberations on several long-pending and emerging concerns requiring parliamentary intervention, policy attention, and administrative action. The delegation comprised JKSA National President Adv. Umar Jamal, National Spokesperson Dr. Zubair Reshi, National Secretary Adv. Gazi Muzamil, Media Coordinator Mohammad Younus, and other members of the Association.

The JKSA delegation presented a comprehensive overview on continuing concerns surrounding recruitment scams, examination irregularities, paper leaks, tendering controversies, outsourcing, procedural lapses, and institutional failures that, according to the Association, have affected public recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir over the past several years.

The Association expressed anguish over the persistent allegations and controversies surrounding recruitment processes, stating that their cumulative impact has undermined public confidence in the credibility and integrity of the recruitment system.

The delegation highlighted the hardships faced by thousands of deserving aspirants who have spent years preparing for competitive examinations, often at considerable financial and personal cost. Many candidates, it said, have seen valuable years of their eligibility pass while recruitment processes remain affected by investigations, litigation, cancellations, and administrative delays. Families have also faced substantial financial burdens amid prolonged uncertainty over the future of their children.

Stating that “the aspirations of an entire generation cannot become collateral damage of administrative failures,” the JKSA delegation urged Pawan Khera to convey the concerns to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and request that the matter be raised comprehensively in Parliament.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Association urged Khera to request Rahul Gandhi to seek a detailed explanation from the Government of India regarding recurring recruitment controversies, examination cancellations, paper leaks, and alleged irregularities in major recruitment processes in Jammu and Kashmir, including those relating to Jammu & Kashmir Police Sub-Inspectors (JKPSI), Finance Accounts Assistants (FAA), Junior Engineers (Civil), Fire & Emergency Services, and other examinations conducted through the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

The delegation stressed that recurring disruptions in recruitment have consequences extending beyond individual examinations, affecting the career prospects, financial stability, and professional aspirations of a large number of young people. It urged that the concerns of affected aspirants be addressed through transparent investigations, timely decisions, institutional accountability, and appropriate remedial measures.

The Association further urged that Parliament seek details of the reforms undertaken to strengthen examination security, prevent paper leaks, improve institutional accountability, and restore confidence in public recruitment. It also called for consideration of an independent oversight mechanism to strengthen transparency, fairness, merit, and accountability in future recruitment processes.

Responding to the concerns raised by the JKSA delegation, MP Pawan Khera gave a patient and detailed hearing and assured the representatives that the issues discussed would receive due attention. He stated that he would convey the concerns raised by the Association to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and pursue relevant matters through appropriate parliamentary and institutional channels.

Khera also appreciated the sustained efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association in addressing student concerns across the country, particularly its work in crisis intervention, advocacy, legal assistance, educational support, and youth engagement.(KNS)
