Srinagar, Sep 4 (KNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V K Birdi, on Thursday said that joint teams of police, SDRF, NDRF, Army and other departments are carrying out day-and-night patrolling in vulnerable areas to tackle the emerging flood situation.
According to KNS, Birdi said wherever water leakages are reported, special teams are immediately deployed to control the situation and prevent any damage. “Joint teams have been formed to monitor every area. Wherever such issues arise, we work closely with flood and irrigation departments and other agencies to resolve them,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The IGP said security forces and rescue agencies have been mobilized for evacuation, early warning and shifting of people to safer locations. “All these measures are being executed at a fast pace. As the water level has started receding, we are hopeful the situation will improve further in the coming hours,” he added.(KNS)
