BJP disrespecting mandate of people- Tara, Bhalla, Ravinder
Kathua, February 22 (KNS): Asking BJP to clarify it's stand over the delay in the restoration of statehood, despite repeated commitments by the Prime Minister & home minister, JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra today questioned centre what' are it's parameters of " Proper time " for the restoration of statehood.
Questioning BJP & it's elected representatives for its criminal silence over the most vital right of the people, Karra said that this amounts to betrayal of the mandate of people,forcing Congress party to launch this movement which shall be intensified in the days to come & people shall come on roads if further delayed.
Addressing a massive gathering of DCC at Kathua today Karra said it is our right & we shall fight to get it back .He regretted that we have to struggle for achieving our legitimate right, identity ,status & honour.
Hiting hard BJP for disbanding, dividing and downgrading the historical dogra state,he lauded the struggle of the Dogra rulers and dogra people for expanding the geographical boundaries of their state into a vast territory, having a distant identity, culture and secular values, religious brotherhood.
Taking strong exception to the delay in the finalising the business rules, he said there is confusion in the administration over the defining & distribution of powers. On restoration of statehood is comming in the way of solving various issues of different sections of people who had taken part in the elections in hope of solution of their pending issues.

Shri Tara Chand referred to the vital role of Congress party in the country especially in Jammu & Kashmir and said that it is Congress party which brought about massive development in all spheres.He said that Constitution has enshured the due rights to all including down trodden & blamed BJP of weakening the Constitution and constotutional values.He also reminded to large number of administrative units during UPA & NC Congress govt.
Raman Bhalla highlighted the issues of state lands,Refugees package Punjabi language, large scale Unemployment,issues of daily wagers etc and said that without Statehood solving problems of people are not possible. He blamed BJP led centre of deliberstely delaying the grant of ststehood to compund people d problems.
Former MP Ch Lal Singh alleged that huge chunk of agriculture Land of Kathua district is being brazenly converted into commercial & industrial use depriving future generations of the agricultural production & environment. What kind of industialisation is being done at the cost lives,environment and livlihood of local people especially farmers. He said that the mafia is active in the entire district and illegal mining activities are taking place in connvinance with powerful people,while the local contractors,labourers, tractor trollywalas all are suffering at the cost of mafia.
He also reffered to irrigation projects in the district by the Congress governments but alleged that intrests of Jammu Samba bartered in the recent settlements with Punjab govt. Dr Manohal Lal Sharma referred to Mining mafia, land, sand, drug mafia besides recruitment scandals ruing the future of future generations.
He said Local contractors, farmers, Laboure's ,jobless people are being deprived of opportunities while entire kandi belt is being destroyed in the name of industry to give benefits to outside influential people. Several senior leaders spoke in the six hours long convention attendee by block presidents and other prominent leaders of district.
