Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS):Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary Monday reaffirmed the National Conference's commitment to strengthening the party ahead of the upcoming Panchayat and urban local body elections.

Speaking at a gathering, he emphasized that their primary focus remains on consolidating the party’s position.

Addressing the concerns of Kashmiri Pandits, he highlighted the party’s longstanding efforts for their welfare. "The National Conference has been working for Kashmiri Pandits since 1996. They are an integral part of our culture and the culture of Jammu and Kashmir," he remarked.

Choudhary also expressed concerns over the transition of Jammu and Kashmir from a state to a Union Territory. "The state has been destroyed, and now it has become a U.T.," he said, underscoring the party's stance on restoring full statehood  (KNS)
