Bandipora, Aug 20 (KNS): Students and staff of the Kashmir Tibia College (KTC) in the Shilvat Sumbal area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district staged a protest within the college premises on Tuesday to express their deep shock and outrage over the tragic case of Dr. Moumita Debnath. The post-graduate doctor was allegedly raped and murdered inside a seminar hall of a hospital in Kolkata.
The protesters demanded swift and stringent action against the perpetrators, calling for justice for Dr. Debnath and her family. While speaking to the media, a female student said, "These incidents are now common, and the government is not taking any serious action against them. The government's tall claims of 'beti bachao, beti padhao' have failed on the ground. Our mothers and sisters are not safe in our own country. It's totally unfortunate."
Another female student urged the government to look into the matter and take strict action against those involved in the crime. (KNS)
