Srinagar, June 12 (KNS): Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain, confirmed that two terrorists and a CRPF personnel were killed in a gunfight in Kathua, while the operation is still active.
Speaking to reporters, ADGP Jain, as per KNS correspondent said that the encounter began yesterday evening and extended into the following afternoon. "Initially, one terrorist was neutralized, followed by another. Unfortunately, we lost a CRPF jawan during the clash. The slain terrorists were part of a newly infiltrated group. The operation has not been called off yet, as there may be additional terrorists hiding in the vicinity," Jain told reporters.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also said that a civilian injured during the encounter is stable and out of danger.
Recovered from the deceased terrorists were grenades, IEDs, a US-made M4 carbine, and other military-grade equipment, he added.
Regarding a separate encounter in the Chattergala area of Doda, ADGP Jain noted that the operation is ongoing, with the security forces personnel involved reported to be stable.(KNS)
