Srinagar, Sept 16 (KNS) : J&K Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary Khurshid Alam on Tuesday reaffirmed the party’s commitment to safeguard the political dignity and democratic aspirations of the people, as he addressed a well-attended meeting at Hassanabad.
In a statement issued, “Our struggle has never been about positions or power. It has always been about the people and their right to live with honour,” Alam said, while stressing that the PDP continues to be the only political force that stands by Kashmiris in both turbulent and testing times.
“We do not believe in hollow rhetoric. We believe in trust, truth, and real empowerment of our people,” he added.
The meeting was organised by zone president Khalid Mir and attended by district president Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat, vice president Srinagar Mohammad Shafi Kundanghar, and vice president zone Khanyar Meirajudin Lone, besides a large gathering of locals.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In a significant show of support, several influential residents of the area joined the PDP during the event. Among them were Ashiq Hussain Baba, Shabir Hussain Malla, Bilal Ahamed Rather, Mohammad Abdullah Dar, Gowher Ahmad Joo, Ghulam Rasool Beigh, Abdul Rashid Mir, Mohammad Ibrahim Malla, Mohammad Afzal, and Ashiq Hussain Sheikh, alongside scores of others.
Describing the mass participation as “a clear message of faith in MEHBOOBA MUFTI SHIBAS vision,” Khurshid Alam said the people of Srinagar, particularly in Hassanabad, have always displayed political wisdom and now seek leadership that stands firmly with them.
“Their trust strengthens our resolve to continue this journey with greater determination,” he remarked.(KNS)
