Srinagar, Sept 21 (KNS) : The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has expressed serious concern over the commencement of unscheduled power cuts across Kashmir, stating that the sudden interruptions are causing inconvenience to traders, businesses and the general public.

KTA President Aijaz Ahmad Shahdhar said the return of unscheduled power cuts was a matter of concern, particularly for commercial establishments that depend heavily on uninterrupted electricity for their day-to-day operations.

“Unscheduled power cuts have started again in Kashmir, causing inconvenience to traders and disrupting business activity. The government and the concerned power authorities must ensure that consumers are provided a reliable and uninterrupted power supply, particularly during business hours,” Shahdhar said.

He said frequent power interruptions affect shops, markets, commercial establishments and small businesses, increasing operational difficulties and causing losses to traders.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Shahdhar urged the concerned authorities to strictly adhere to the announced power curtailment schedule and ensure that any unavoidable interruption is properly communicated to consumers in advance.

“The business community is already facing several challenges. Frequent and unscheduled power cuts add to the difficulties faced by traders and affect the smooth functioning of markets. There should be transparency in the curtailment schedule and consumers should not be subjected to arbitrary power cuts,” he said.

The KTA President called upon the Power Development Department/KPDCL to take immediate measures to streamline the power supply and ensure that the announced schedule is followed in letter and spirit.(KNS)
