Kupwara Police Destroys Seized Contraband in Anti-Drug Drive

Kupwara, January 25 (KNS): In a significant step towards combating the drug menace, Kupwara Police, under the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, destroyed a large quantity of contraband substances seized in various cases across the district. The destruction process was carried out in strict compliance with legal protocols under Section 52A of the NDPS Act and as per Magistrial orders.

The process was supervised by a properly constituted committee, including SSP Kupwara Shri Ghulam Jeelani (JKPS), DySP ANTF, DySP CI, DySP Headquarters Kupwara, and DySP DAR Kupwara.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe contraband substances were destroyed at the designated incineration facility of Kashmir Health Care System, Lassipora, Pulwama, adhering to environmental safety standards.

The destroyed contraband consisted of 6.387 kilograms of heroin and 22 grams of charas, seized in seven different cases by various police stations in the district.

This initiative reflects Kupwara Police's commitment to ensuring a drug-free society and district police's resolve to eradicate the drug menace and called for active cooperation from the public.(KNS)
