Lal Chowk traders delegation call on SMC Commissioner

Srinagar, JANUARY 15 (KNS): A delegation of Central Lal Chowk Traders Federation led by its Vice Presideent Imtiyaz Ahmad today called on Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Owais Ahmad and apprised him about the issues faced by the shopkeepers in the area.


Accompanied by President of Masjid Noor, Court Road, Lal Chowk, the delegation apprised the Commissioner about the menace of stray dogs in the area who have caused fear among the residents and visitors. Additionally, they also took up the issue of providing better street lighting in the area. 

The traders apprised thee Commissioner SMC about current inadequate street lights which affects both residents and the businesses around.

During the meeting, both representatives apprised the Commissioner of the growing menace of stray dogs in the Lal Chowk area, which has been causing safety concerns for residents and visitors.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel 
They also raised the need for improved street lighting in the area, highlighting the risks posed by inadequate illumination, especially after dark.

The Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the dlegation, acknowledging the seriousness of the concerns raised. He assured the representatives that prompt and necessary action would be taken to address both issues.

“We, as traders of Lal Chowk, would like to express our appreciation for the Commissioner’s people-friendly approach. His willingness to listen to our concerns and provide assurances of timely action has instilled confidence in the local community. We look forward to seeing positive changes in the near future,” the delegation said in a statement.

They also appreciated the prompt action by the SMC in clearing snow from roads during recent snowfall.(KNS)
